Cherry Garmannsland: "Home Full of Friends Helps Face Parkinson's with a Smile"

About Brookdale Senior Living

When Cherry Garmannsland moved into a Brookdale community because of her Parkinson’s disease, she knew she’d be receiving quality care in a safe environment. What she didn’t know was how close she’d become with the other residents and care attendees.

“It's really become like a family,” she admits. “It's a lot of very caring people that work here and live here, and it makes my life very much more special and meaningful.”

This social butterfly says she believes you can never have too many friends, especially as you get older.

“I think that it's so important to just surround yourself with people that are easy going, and know how to talk to you and make you feel better.”
