Chris Knowles, director of Dining Services at Brookdale North Raleigh, has a secret ingredient that virtually guarantees residents will love what he cooks. What’s the secret? A simple conversation! “I usually start with ‘where are you from?’, because where you’re from is usually what you like to eat,” says Chris. That’s why he always includes residents in the menu selection process and encourages residents to submit family recipes for his staff to bring to life. “It helps them remember their families and where they come from,” added Chris.
