Charlotte Simpson, aka the Traveling Black Widow (@travelingblackwidow), is a retired guidance counselor and special education teacher. After losing her husband of 31 years, she decided to make solo-world-travel a central part of her retirement life and has now been to all seven continents and the 50 states. She documents her journey on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok as @TravelingBlackWidow where she currently has over 24K followers. Charlotte has been featured in Conde Nast Traveler, Essence, Forbes, and many other publications. She has collaborated with numerous tourism boards and companies. When she is not traveling, she volunteers as a court appointed special advocate for children in foster care and to help high school students learn English as a Second Language.
Sandy Sallin
Sandy Sallin (@sandrasallin) was a former TV commercial actress, who climbed 10,000 ft mountains, shook Steve Jobs’ hand, flew a British Spitfire plane over the White Cliffs of Dover and flunked pasta making in Italy. Now, she’s an 82-year-old artist with paintings in museums and an award-winning blogger. Sandy started her blog at age 70! Her son and Instagram community encouraged her, just over a year ago, to go beyond blogging and create videos. YouTube and all of her social channels aim to inspire “women of a certain age” and Sandy finds it so very rewarding to connect and share her passion for fashion, beauty, wellness, honest conversations, and of course, lipstick.
Lisa and Mama Lin
Raised in San Francisco, Lisa Lin shares cooking videos on Instagram (@hellolisalin) that feature her passionate and opinionated mother Lan Lin, better known as Mama Lin. LisaLin is the voice behind the culinary website Healthy Nibbles. In 2018, Lisa started filming Mama Lin cooking her classic dishes, like peanut candy and sticky rice. Before long, these cooking videos became very popular, as followers tuned in to learn Mama Lin's cooking wisdom and connect with the mother-daughter relationship displayed in these videos. Through her website and cooking videos, Lisa hopes to share and honor the Chinese food traditions that Mama Lin taught her.
