Brookdale at Home Memphis

Some people start researching home care agencies because they want to maintain their independence for as long as possible. Others want more time, freedom and fewer chores but aren’t quite ready to make the leap to a senior living community. There are also some seniors who just want companion care.

Our team at Brookdale at Home Memphis is here to help you with some of your daily tasks so you can soak up all the freedom you can. We background check, train and onboard our caregivers so they are ready to lend a hand with things like errands, pet care and light housekeeping. They can even provide technology and medication assistance. Whether you want someone to sit and share your stories with or someone who can take some things off your to-do list, our main goal is to help you feel safe, protected and as independent as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions About In-Home Care

Private in-home care, which Brookdale at Home offers, is a type of nonmedical care where an hourly caregiver provides support or companionship at a personal home or senior living community for seniors or anyone needing daily or weekly assistance. Some of the services Brookdale at Home offer are light meal preparation and/or housekeeping, errand service, assistance with bathing or dressing, pet care, medication set-up and reminders, and more.

Home health care is a type of skilled medical care, for those who qualify, that’s designed to help you recover from specific health situations, such as a medical procedure, or from a fall or illness. Home health care is often performed by a skilled nurse, rehabilitation therapist, home health aide or medical social worker. This kind of care requires a physician’s order and that you meet certain eligibility requirements in order to qualify. Medicare often will cover it.

For private at-home care, which Brookdale At Home provides, you don’t need a physician’s order or need to meet eligibility requirements in order to qualify. The type of care provided is less clinical focused, and instead is meant to provide support or assistance with activities of daily living, errands, meal preparation, and more. Medicare doesn’t cover this type of care, and instead you’re responsible for paying for it privately. Typically, you get to decide what services you need or want, as well as how often a caregiver comes to your house.

You do not need to meet any medical qualifications or receive a physician’s order to be eligible for private duty, at home care. As long as your service needs/wants match up with our agency’s scope of service, you should be eligible to receive care. Brookdale At Home provides a no-cost/no obligation evaluation of your needs or wants prior to starting services. To learn more, give us a call.

The cost for private in-home care does depend on certain factors like the amount of caregiver time you’re requesting per week and the types of services you want. If you are interested in pricing, reach out to a Brookdale at Home agency in your area.
